DCT is now what it made itself. A minor small Independent comic publisher…though their output is quite minor. Mustn’t say too much as the editors at DCT absolutely hate me, apparently and we know snoops like brown-nosing to them!

Sadly, all too often the case. DCT should’ve considered using his talents on The Dandy after the relaunch – it might’ve slowed down the decline in circulation for a little longer.

As far as I understand it, Thomson promised Terry they were going to use his creative skills and Baby Herc never went past the first strip. Personally speaking I think Thomson crapped on him. After his experience there were no more comics and when I did contact him he wasn’t willing to discuss comics. He was retired. For such a friendly, nice guy he wasn’t treated with respect.

Thanks for the mention, Terry. The other Terry (Bave) is indeed a legend of British cartooning and I hope he and Shiela have a nice, long, healthy retirement for many years to come. It would be nice if he could still do the occasional page for the Beano ‘though.

I worked with Jay as a bank courier back in 1996-97. The other couriers who worked with us were all mainly retired and just working to pass the time. Most of the guys knew I read comics and when Jay was hired they told me he was a Comic Book Artist. I had only met one other Artist before and that was at a career day in the 7th grade. When I told Jay that I was a Comic Book fan he told me that he had drawn a book for the Brick Computer Science Institute called Captain Electron. I knew that book because I had purchased it not to long ago. It was only one issue but Jay had told me he had done several issues that never saw print. I left the job not to long after and never saw or had any contact with Jay since then. But all in all he was a very nice man and he did indeed have a unique laugh.
