Purple Hood Swings Into 2010!

Comic Album [A4]

108 pages

It was the Swinging Sixties! Britain was hip as hip could be -The Beatles ruled Pop! And everyone was looking toward a bright future…if there wasn’t a nuclear war!

Middle Eastern threats,Eastern European fascists, flying saucer flown by megalomaniacs and super mole machines and others threatened our little island.

But we had the ultimate answer to these:The Purple Hood -International crime-smasher!

Michael Jay’s Purple Hood now collected into over a hundred pages of action and text back-up. This is THE ultimate collection!

A little difficult to find in a good condition these days, this book has seen the artwork scanned, resized, cleaned [several times] and printer errors in the original corrected. Over 90 pages of action plus an introduction and look at the Purple Hood’s later appearances in Black Tower strips.  108 pages of nostalgia and fun.

Pillaried by some comic British historians I still enjoy skipping through these pages and wanting a neck collar camera!

  1. Artwork is real classic, and I am among the ones looking forward to the collection. Lew’s intro does bode well for the waiting.

  2. Nice article. Sadly,’John Spencer’ seemed to have no fondness for the comics he produced. Very sad. Then again, not bad for me as I bought a lot of stuff that was so cheap even back in those days to publish “one day” but never have!

The planned Mark Tyme collection is delayed as my scanned copies of no.2 are lost on disc and the photostats [B3?!!] were given to a certain person who moved quickly and so I lost most everything. Now I keep everything in my possession!

I’m still undecided what to do with all the stuff I bought from Myron Fass….I’ll not be running short of meterial for a while!
    Cheers

  3. Congratulations on getting the rights to publish this Terry! It’s long overdue. I have the original comics so I won’t be buying it myself but good luck!
