Oh,crap.  I just wrote that piece on 2012 and the postman hands me a bumper load of goodies including Robert Heske [Heske Horror -Cold Blooded Thrillers,etc.].  “Terry Hope U Survive” is inscribed in my copy.  Well, yes, indeed.  I shall survive but not in a Gloria Gaynor way!

Firstly, for those collectors out there -the quality is good both cover and interior pages.  So,no problem there.  That said,if the world ends in two years why buy the book?  Why? Well, you need something to read while waiting for the end, right?  Let’s face it,it is very unlikely that you’ll get access to the Playboy Mansion for two years…….

Sorry. Let my mind stray there.

For me the funniest [slightly offensive] piece was “2012 Foreboding” by Marshall Masters, author of  “Planet X Forecast and 2012 Survival Guide”,”The Kolbrin Bible” and ”2012:Wisdom of the Elohim” -if you have copies of those books and run out of toilet paper…No. I’m going to review the book and now get side-tracked by Masters.

“12.21.12 [11:11 GST]” by Chris McJunkin is interesting to read and some nice art.  Great start.  “Apocalypto” by Ollie Masters [W] and Andy Fish [A] is okay -the art is an interesting mix of mediums but carries the story through.

“Seed Wind Reap Storms” by Shawn Gaborrin [W] and Mario Cau [A] again, was okay.  The story never shocked or made me think “wow!” but Cau’s artwork is good and I’d like to see more of him in future [if we have a future].

“2012:Apocalypse In Five Parts” by Shamere Borg,Xander Bennett [W] is drawn in a nice, quirky style by Melanie Cook. Good ending.

“Start Over” by Robert Heske [W] and Adam Swiecki [A].  This is a good story but Heske has proven he can write before so no major surprise there!  The art has a nice style and Swiecki I am poositive I’ve said something nice about before but my memory and forgetting names  is legendary!  No surprise that Heske used him to illustrate his story.

Heske also writes “Demented”,drawn wonderfully by Stephen Downey.  This was gorey but FUN to read and some nice twists.

There is more.  Incredibly the book that started out with Masters and my getting a stiff neck and surge of anger won me over.  Heske seems to be able to get a good mixture of styles as far as the artists go and though some of the stories don’t hit my g-spot [what is that exactly?] the whole does combine to make a great anthology and,I’m sure, another winner for Heske Horror.  There are certainly at least two stories would make TV plays.

So,apart from Masters -a buy I’d recommend!!
