Tintin’s adventures take him back to the

Middle East, and an explosive start to the story amidst the burning political atmosphere of the 1950s. Somehow Tintin, Milyn, Parry-Williams and Williams-Parry have joined the crew of the Speedol Star tanker en route eastwards, docking at the port of Khemekho-Leone in the

kingdom of

Khemed. The kindgom’s wealth stems from black gold – the oilfields deep beneath the desert sands. However the kingdom is torn in a bitter struggle for supremacy between the emir Ben Kalish Ezab and the sheik Pahra Bhlu. Between both protagonists stands one crook – already known to Tintin – who’s sole aim is to take advantage of the situation for his own ends. He possesses a chemical formula which has potentially inflammable consequences.

 

This,surely,has to be a must buy for any Tintin fans?  A new Welsh language edition and the lettering is in the style of the original so no glaring differences to offend.  That cover is quite wonderful,isn’t it?

 

Hopefully,youngsters will be encouraged to read Welsh and there are any number of school projects that you can get out of this.
