Cinebook Take India By Storm!
Rafiq Raja over at Comicology [link on blogroll] has written the following piece on the recent influx of Cinebook titles to India.
Could this be the “Cinebook Age Of Comics”?
“A Quick Blog (updates to follow) about the recent Insurgency of US/UK based CineBook comics last week in the local shops, which has made me go bankrupt for the whole month. I have spent a total of 6k so far on them. Gosh.
CineBook mostly concentrate on the Franco-Belgian Comics Series… translating them to English… in the process they have tapped to some of the famous characters, like Lucky Luke, Yakari, etc..
The Surprising fact with the CineBook new releases, is that they contains releases dated as new as May 2008. The company does seem to be going great guns with monthly releases (refer www.cinebook.com), but still have let out their most recent releases priced around 12$s each, for as minimum as Rs.195….. Don’t know what could be the reason, but if thats marketing strategy then it is more than welcome at such a low price.”
