In the late 50’s, Victor Gorelick, a graduate from The School of Industrial Art, was hired to work in the production department at Archie comics. In a few years, Victor moved on to become the Art Director and later an editor. By the mid 80’s Victor had been promoted to Managing Editor, where he has strived to keep Archie current and relevant to each new generation of readers.
We are pleased to announce, Victor Gorelick has recently been named as Archie Comics’ new Editor-in-Chief.
Among his accomplishments, Victor also serves on the board of advisors to the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and is always looking for new talent. Victor hired Kubert School graduate Mike Pellerito to work in the production department.
Mike moved on to become an Associate editor, where he worked with Victor and soon became the Editor for Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic X and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. His hard work and dedication to his job is the reason why the decision was made to promote Mike Pellerito to the position of Managing Editor.

THIS NOVEMBER, THE TEENS OF RIVERDALE HIGH SPOOF ANOTHER POPULAR CAST OF HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS!
In early 2006, a new phenomenon was born. A TV movie was aired that captured the hearts of the nation’s youth. A modern retelling of “Romeo & Juliet” set in a high school to a thumping backbeat of catchy teen-pop, it aired to amazing ratings in the US and Europe. It was so popular that many repeat airings followed. Inevitably, it spawned a hit soundtrack CD and spin-offs, as well as DVD releases and a live stage show. A sequel movie is completed and about to air, with a third installment already in the works.
With a history of reflecting the current fads and fashions, it’s only natural that Archie Comics would take a stab at gently spoofing and paying tribute to this popular series, and this November that’s exactly what happens in “Riverdale High – the Musical,” appearing in …

Green Lama, Man of Strength
Issue Number: #1
Writer -James Ritchey
Artists -James Ritchey and Loki Dolza
Format: Standard comic book size,
40 pages, black & white with color covers
Retail Price: $6.95
Ship Date: March 5, 2008
According to Diamond Distributors:
“Synopsis: An unsuspecting college student falls heir to the powers of The GREEN LAMA, in a darkly contemporary version of the AC Universe. World War III has come and gone, demons run free in the streets- and only The GREEN LAMA can restore order.
Guest-starring The FEMFORCE and GOLDEN LAD.
Special Notes: Almost seven years in the making, this “Elseworlds”- style take on the classic Golden Age hero created by Ken Crossen is the product of hot new writer/artist James Ritchey. Refined in consultation with Kendra Crossen Burroughs, daughter of (and executor to the literary estate of ) Ken Crossen, this intro to the smart new series gives a darker, edgier, more modern take on superheroics, and should appeal much more easily to current comics readers. Unlike AC’s normal “classic” approach to heroes & storytelling, these characters are more ambiguous, with unknown agendas hidden around every corner. In addition to guest-appearances by Mr. Ritchey’s versions of mainstream AC heroes, see the revival of other costumed characters from Crossen’s Spark Publications group of the mid-1940’s; each with it’s own unique spin.”
CBO would like to wish James all the best with the project!
2008 Seems to be the year for Golden Age heroes to return. In the UK,a Silver Age Icon returns. Yes…
