An Invite to the Media The Birmingham International Comics Show (BICS) takes place over the weekend of 13-14th October 2007 at The Thinktank, Millennium Point, in

Birmingham, England. Guests will include Mike Mignola (creator of the Hellboy comics and movie phenomenon), Paul Cornell (award-nominated Dr Who TV series scriptwriter and comics author), plus international stars and homegrown talent behind popular comics from The X-Men right through to The Beano! ·        

Requests for press passes should be made by email to: paulhbirch@yahoo.com ·        

Please give the names of any individuals from your company requesting passes, their role (eg. journalist, photographer, TV crew) a contact phone number and email address. ·        

To avoid disappointment, for a pass bearing your name, and so greater access, please forward details asap. ·        

Arrangements in advance for interviews with guests can be made on your behalf. ·        

 To maximise his time with his fans during the show Mike Mignola can only give interviews on the morning of Friday 12th. Any requests to speak with him should be made sooner rather than later. ·        

 It should be noted that certain guests might not wish to grant interviews at any time during the event.  Please respect their privacy.      

A press pass also offers you an invite to the launch party due to take place at Bennetts on the evening of Friday 12th.

Gumby Goes to Brum Wildcard Ink, the American publishing company of Gumby Comics who won 2007’s Eisner Award for Best Title for a Younger Audience, and was nominated in two other categories, will once more be represented at this year’s Birmingham International Comics Show in the UK.

 Editorial staff member Paul H Birch is likely to be seen playing an early-Santa Claus and handing out free Gumby goodies galore. “We have some very special trading cards this year, featuring sketched art by three legends of the comic book industry; Mike Golden, Bill Sienkiewicz, and Mike Mignola who will himself be at the show.” Birch revealed. Even more exclusive are a collection of uncut boards for the cards. These rare collector’s items will be offered as prizes at the special BICS 2007 launch party that will take place on the Friday 12th October. Fans can purchase the whole Gumby Comics line from Smallzone, and other good distributors, during the weekend show. For more information Gumby Comics visit:
