Ever heard of Tangerine Dreams? No,not a 1960s psychedelic pop group,it’s a web site offering a guide to Shoujo Manga. Quite interesting if you are trying to find out more about all aspects of Manga.
The site states:
“Tangerine Dreams is your guide to shoujo manga and anime, josei manga, and Korean girls’ manhwa published in English. Many people are confused about which series are shoujo and which are guys’ shows featuring female characters. The definition of shoujo manga is simple but worth stating here: it is manga published in shoujo magazines as defined by their publishers.
Shoujo manga are Japanese comics for young and teenage girls and Josei manga are comics for young women.
Manhwa are from Korea. They are primarily created by female artists for a female audience. Shoujo anime are naturally the animated versions of girls’ comics, although there are a few original animated productions not based on a manga.
Purchasing shoujo manga and anime: a secondary goal of this site is to point you to places online which sell these manga and anime, since not everyone lives near the type of store that sells these products.
The store links on this site are provided thru The Right Stuf International‘s affiliate program. RightStuf is a popular anime and manga retailer which has regular company sales and storewide sales and Weekly Specials. They are based in the USA. If you are Canadian, like me, Amazon.ca is usually a better choice for purchasing manga (their DVD prices are less reasonable). But when RightStuf’s DVDs are on a special sale, they can be even better than Amazon.ca.
A tip for Canadians: you can try asking RightStuf to supply a filled-out NAFTA form to bypass customs duties. ”
