A lot of enquiries following CBOs all too brief look at Papo figures and sets so I’m hoping to do a larger feature at some point before the end of August.

Sadly,I’ve heard nothing back from Papo itself but for those who want to know more:

“The Papo company was established in 1983, is was taken over by the current managing team in 1994. As early as 1997, faced with a limited fugurine offer, Papo decided to market a new range of characters.

The 1st line was “The knights  ; shortly followed by ”Tales and Legends” and the ”Wild West”. Because of the success, Papo increased its range and added to its existing lines. Now all major classical themes are represented at Papo’s as well as cinema heroes, cartoon and comic strip characters. Lastly in 2004 Papo launched its animal series.

Papo figurines are now sold in Europe, America, Africa, the Middle East and Oceania.

We are happy and proud that our figurines help the imagination of children from all walks of life.”

A company called Le Toy Van Ltd are the UK distributors so if I hear anything from them I’ll add more later!

I collect these too, they are among the best toys Ive ever had surpassing even the eighties. (Oh how I always dreamed of having a zorro figure as a child!) Its too bad that figures only come out once a year and info on them is nonexistent most of the time.
