Wonderful to find this interview. What a charming man! And such a formative influence on my very young life.

Those comics were cheap and wonderful, as your man said. In fact they were cheap enough for my no-nonsense father to be induced to buy them for me on car trips, to the extent that he unwittingly contributed to the subversion of his own authority :)

Because they introduced me to having a sense of wonder, a sense of the world beyond my somewhat stifling hometown life, and expanded my mind by making me think about philosophical issues, and introduced me to some great stories and fantastic artwork.

Just one thing though - I tried clicking on the link to Alan's website, but it's not working for me. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful, because I'd like to personally thank Alan if possible - if he's still alive?

Glad to see the comics finally getting some recognition. HUGE impression on me when I was a kid. Turns out I was a Ditko fan before I even knew it!

Norman,I don't think there were ten. I believe Alan might be thinking of something else as Denis [Gifford] said there were 3?

Mind you,one error after so many years isn't bad!

Glad you enjoyed the Feature!

VERY WELL DONE TERRY! Despite innumerable hurdles, you have triumphed .....and even remembered to ask about Bellamy's appearance at the launch of Ally Sloper. Thanks a lot for doing that!
Were there really "nine or ten issues" of Ally Sloper - I've only seen 4?
